‘Starlight Express’ aims to bring a little magic into the lives of children by   bringing the phenomenon of our Captain Starlight and the magic of our Starlight Express   Rooms to the bedside and classrooms of children in regional and metropolitan areas.

  ‘Starlight Express’ is designed to reach metropolitan and regional centres that traditionally   lack the funds for the adequate educational and diversional therapy so often attributed to   a child’s ability for a speedy recovery. The aim is to establish the feel of a mini Starlight   Express Room to encourage children to come and meet Captain Starlight and watch the   entertainment.

  Captain Starlight will travel in our brightly coloured ‘Starlight Express’ van that has been   outfitted to house a myriad of equipment including Nintendo’s, video projector, arts and   craft and much more. The focus of Captain’s visit will be both interactive and hi-tech with   children having the opportunity to play Nintendo on the big screen, participate in arts and   craft, and generally interact with Captain Starlight.

  TRAKKA’s involvement with the ‘Starlight Express’ van project was developing the concept   into a practical workable solution to transport 4 people and a large variety of equipment.   The conversion work included special storage areas for toys, videos and games, a lock   down system to secure bulky heavy equipment and an easy system for loading and   unloading the vehicle.
